Osteopathy is a natural medical science that considers the human body a complete unit, an integrated system of structures and functions that are inter-related. Therefore, an abnormality in one structure may lead to abnormal function of the whole body, and vice versa. Additionally, the body has self-regulating abilities, and is possessive of the inherent potential to heal itself.

Osteopathic practitioners strive to combine and apply these keystone principles into facilitating comprehensive treatment that can help to restore functionality in an ailing individual. This is accomplished through a series of gentle and controlled manipulations that correct the imbalance of the structural elements of the body.

For example, the practitioner can work on joint motion, muscles or fasciae to improve circulation, lymphatic drainage and nervous impulses that will lead to the restoration of the proper function of all body units.

The most common issues Adam sees and treats at the clinic are: neck and shoulder discomfort, headache pain, lower back pain, numbness/tingling of the hands and arms and/or legs and feet, post-natal, Covid-related physical stress, and general relaxation.

Adam has spent many years in the endurance sports world as both a participant and primarily as a coach. He is adept at working with the athletic population, no matter what their level or sport is. And this includes providing massage services for these individuals.

Aside from practicing massage at Perform Well, Adam teaches anatomy at Kikkawa College in Toronto, and is enrolled in the four-year Osteopathy program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton.

David has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 1999. He experience also includes six years as a massage therapy instructor and tutor, a bilingual examiner with the College Of Massage Therapists of Ontario for licensing exams, fitness instructor and coach.

David finds that working with the patient, their interests and their environment to be the most effective way of helping people take ownership of their own health. The goal is to get the patient back to regular function and to prevent opportunity for re-injury. Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue and Soft Tissue Release (like ART) and Cupping are some of the other non-Swedish massage techniques that he uses in treating a variety of conditions. He is a firm believer in moving the patient around during treatment – after all, they rarely injure themselves by just laying there. He also has a special interest and success in working with both surgical and non-surgical scar tissue as well as fascial adhesions, which cause restrictions in movement. Having said that, he also appreciates the need to de-stress by laying quietly and restoring the mind-body connection through relaxation massage.
